Handling Products in Confido
Introduction
CPG brands commonly roll up products into Master Cases, and can have multiple Master Case options per individual product / UPC, which makes it difficult to capture costs and margins per individual product/UPC.
Here are the most common Product Hierarchies used:
For instance, let’s say that your Graham Crackers are set up as a Product/UPC with Case Pricing of 11.74, with 6 units per Case.
There’s a chance that your brand can sell a 6-unit pack to Target and another 12-unit Pack to Walmart, with the same Product/UPC. Both the 6-unit and 12-unit would be separate items on †he ERP, and need to flow separately into the Ship-to Actuals.
That’s exactly what Confido’s product setup is here to solve.
Product Configuration in Confido
In Confido, brands are able to create a list of sellable products (ex. A single granola bar, a pack of 6 granola bars). In this case, Confido is allowing users to plan in sellable units, which is how the product is sold on shelf.
Next, plan the product content details, such as quantity and item numbers.
Afterwards, Confido can roll-up the sellable units into their associated master cases. Brands can leverage the forecast at the ship-to / master case level as a source of truth for the order forecast.
Case Price Override
Since the price for a given customer or distributor may vary, Confido enables Case Price overrides per product and customer. Users can set a default price for the standard prices for most customers, but can also define overrides for certain customers by product.
