What are Account Planner Scenarios in Confido?

Confido’s Scenario Planner is a one-stop shop for users to see the impact of different pricing and promotional strategies in real time without making changes to their live trade calendar and forecasts. This creates a shareable and collaborative model where sales and finance users can modify inputs, pull in live pricing data, and make data-driven decisions around their trade plan for the year.

Key Features

Scenarios allows for an easy interface to configure and understand both the Brand’s and the Retailer’s margins and pricing:

  • Name and save scenarios to revisit on the account planner
  • Edit details of promotions
    • Weeks on/off promotion
    • % lift
    • Base and Incremental Volume
    • Funding
    • Promoted Price
  • View Net Sales, Contribution Margin, and the Retailer’s Margin for any Scenario 
  • See scenario impact at a per unit or total dollar  level

How to Configure Scenarios

Let’s walk through how a user can configure Account Planner Scenarios.

  1. Scenarios will be available under the “Scenarios” tab in the Account Planner view.
  2. Select the Product Family to plan for.
  3. Revenue and COGs will auto-populate from existing data, but a user can override if necessary. Input the Retail Price and Price to Retailer as well. 
  4. If applicable, configure Broker Spend, Distributor Pass-through, Merchandising Spend, and Shopper Marketing Spend.

 

  1. Input expect on and off promotion units or create the outline of promotion items
    1. At the bottom of the account planner in the “Promotional Support” section and input your non-promotional weeks units per week and EDLP rate
    2. Click the  “Add Promotion” button to add a new promotion line and input the number of weeks the promotion will run, base units per week, expected lift, promo rate, and target price

6. View the impact of the pricing and revenue changes on unit economics on the dashboard. Save relevant scenarios for future use.
